During the editing process, I had to make sure the audio is well-implemented with few flaws. Making sure the audio matches the vibe of the visual aspects of the film was another challenge. I had to completely abandon the audio that I chose before editing and filming as it was not a great match with the video clips. At first, I was planning on using upbeat/lo-fi beats but soon realized that this wasn't the best choice during editing. I thought this because not only did the lo-fi beats I found sound a bit cheesy, but I also felt as if they didn't represent a culinary feeling. After some research, I decided to shift more into the jazz sphere and the Bossa Nova genre which is basically 60’s Brazilian jazz. I chose to use jazz music during the interviews as it is warmer, laid back, and relaxing which will ultimately not distract the viewers from what the person in the particular interview is saying. I used the Bossa Nova music for clips in which it is just foods/cooking. When there isn't dialogue, it opens the door to using more distracting and upbeat music that has a lot going on. I also feel that the sound derived from Bossa Nova matches the visual aspects of food and cooking. From my perspective, I see it as the bright and vibrant sounds of the genre match the bright and vibrant flavors and colors of the dish.
