Audio, especially from my experiences, is one of the hardest elements in film to tame. Consistently, I have struggled to get audio right in the past project (ex. SCROW). I always struggled to focus audio on a specific thing and would have outside elements like air conditioning, planes, and other noises sneak into particular scenes. It would always frustrate me and have realized most of my auditorial issues are divvied from a lack of technology. The iPhone speaker itself is simply not enough for what I want to achieve. Within my documentary, I want to get extremely directed audio of what is being filmed and make sure the audio in my interviews is clear, crisp, and free of background noises. For this reason, I am purchasing background noise-canceling microphones that can be clipped on shirts for interviews and also can be used for general purposes as well.
