In class today, three other peers and I had a small group discussion for around 30-35 minutes. It was beneficial and we all provided feedback as long as receiving feedback. I started off by asking everyone if I should use Adobe Primer Pro to edit my project instead of iMovie. All of them suggested against iMovie. Although iMovie can most definitely get the job done, Adobe Premier Pro is less buggy and will give me more space to edit how I want alongside the quality going up. At first, I was hesitant and asked if it was extremely hard to use and they all told me that after watching a quick twenty min tutorial, I should start to get the hang of it.
Then we all continued with our discussion by going through each other's blogs. I gave some suggestions to my peers and also received more feedback. When asked about the music, I was told I should focus on trying to avoid the top results shown for copyright-free music. Instead, I was told to dive deeper for higher quality music and I couldn't agree anymore. I was also told to focus heavily on making the vibe of my documentary more emotional. Remember that the main focus is my mother (the person who raised me), I should really focus on radiating a warm vibe. Alongside that, giving off a warm vibe truly matches the HOME side of home cooking and the stories behind each meal.
After this discussion, I gained a lot of useful feedback and thought it was extremely effective. Group discussions like these are truly what help push my project and ideas to the next level. Alongside being useful, talking about everyone's projects has made me extremely excited to view each documentary, music video, short film, and trailer/s that will be presented in this class.
